The last few months has been exciting for the Pioneer Project and New Hope, including the completion of an Alpha Course. It was great to see the commitment of people attending most weeks and also enjoying an away day at Mount Zion Church. The Church family have been encouraged by spending time together and look forward to continuing with the fortnightly Bible Study.
We are excited that New Hope Church continues to grow with many new faces and with people developing their relationship with Jesus. We are having a Baptism service at the end of August which will be a great celebration.
The Youth and Children’s work has been great fun especially having such amazing weather and the team have taken the opportunity to do outreach in local parks. We have met many young people who have attended New Hope on a Sunday as a result. The young people who regularly attend are active members of the Church, serving on church teams. We are thankful to be part of their lives as we help and encourage them to follow Jesus with their whole heart. Two of the lads are going to Soul Survivor in the summer which will be an amazing experience for them both.
The Church continues to partner with local schools and Cherryfold Primary School came to Parkside over three days last month. Every pupil attended and we enjoyed telling them all about what happens at Church and also giving them a taste of Messy Kids Club. The following week I was doing an assembly at school and there was a great buzz about the place as children told me what they had enjoyed. We will also partner with school to provide a book club drop in during the summer holidays for the children to swap reading books out of term time. We are thankful for the relationship and support we have with local schools which goes from strength to strength.
The project will also partner with the Community Centre during the summer by providing healthy meals and family activities to the surrounding community.
As we look to the future we are thankful to God who sustains us. We trust in Him and although there are many changes ahead we know this work belongs to Him and He will complete it. I am thankful to all the volunteers and people who have supported me personally over the last 7 years. I pray for the leadership team as they map the way forward that Jesus will be the centre of it all.
