As I write this report I am reflecting over the last Year at Job Club.
We have achieved a great deal in the last year. We have taken time to try new adventures such as a joint activity with the Cap Release Group (as it was then known), internet training, cooking, budgeting in various ways as well as presenting the 7 Steps to Employment. Some initiatives proving more successful than others but all of which were useful in enhancing the lives of the Job Club Members as they are given time to develop and grow at their own pace looking at both their social needs as well as their employment opportunities.
Job Club returned mid August after the 3 weeks summer break and we have had reduced numbers attending since then.
As I reflect on the reason for this I am positive God has been at work in the lives of our members.
I have established that those members that did not return have either commenced training courses or taken up volunteering positions, both of which enhance their opportunities for employment, whilst at least one member has found permanent employment. Another member has left the area to return to be with family to receive support with their health needs.
In September 4 members of the Job Club and 2 Volunteers completed a Session covering First Aid for which they will receive certificates.
Links have been rekindled with the Job Centre but as yet no new members have attended the job club. We don't always know why things happen as they do but God has his Plans and it sometimes takes time for them to be revealed.
So, as we look to the future I am unsure what will be happening. God, I am sure, will bring new challenges in the New Year.
