Preaching appointments  September to November 2019



Saturday 14th September at 3.00pm:  Gideons UK Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale branch. Afternoon Tea  at St. Leonard’s Church Padiham BB12 8HG Current stories, opportunities and challenges that are faced locally, national and internationally. September 14/15th September. HARVEST OF TALENTS at HIGHERFORD. The Church will be open from 9.30am-2pm on Saturday the 14th to view all the categories from photography, poetry, baking, flower arrangement, painting and short stories and the Church will be decorated for the Harvest Service on Sunday 15th when certificates will  be distributed by Mr. David Hartley.  Brunch will be served on the Saturday from 9.30am-2pm.

Saturday 21st September 10am to 12 noon. Harvest Coffee Morning at St. Peter’s Earby on  You are invited to come and share with them. Donations will be accepted at this event for the local Food Bank

Wednesday 25th September at 7pmHIGHERFORD will be holding a FASHION EVENING and a sale of goods. Tickets are £6 including a light supper and a welcome drink of Fruit Punch.  Tickets are available from Katrina at Church or ring 697765.

Saturday 28th September.  MacMillan Coffee Morning at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church Barnoldswick from 10am to 12 noon. Please support if you are able.

Saturday 28th September from 10.00am-12noon.  MACMILLAN will be holding their ANNUAL COFFEE MORNING at HIGHERFORD on   Come along for coffee and cake and fellowship.

Saturday 28th September 11am -1pm.  BRUNSHAW METHODIST CHURCH  Rimmington Avenue Burnley BB10 4JY is hosting a MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING.  There will be -  A children's corner – where they can make and decorate their own cakes.    A craft and “bric a brac” stall.   Competitions.   Tea and coffee, as well as cold drinks, and of course - cakes, cakes and more cakes!  We would also like you to bring your favourite recipes – also to be sold to raise funds.  Entrance  - free . Everything else – donations.

Thursday/Friday 3rd and 4th October from 11am-5.30pm and Saturday 5th October from 10.30am-4.00pm.  ANNUAL CRAFT FAIR at HIGHERFORD.  There will be lots of craft stalls including Pendle Hospice Christmas cards and calendars.  The café will be open all day for light lunches and refreshments.

Saturday 12th October Central Methodist Burnley Autumn Fair 10am - 2pm Variety of stalls including: Christmas Gifts, cake stall, raffle and much more. Children’s craft activity Refreshments available lunches served from 12 noon. 20p admission

Sunday 3rd November MWiB:  Circuit Service at Briercliffe Road, at 3.00p.m. The speaker is Deacon Jane Harper, President of District MWiB. Very appropriate in this celebration year of Action for Children, as she speaks of personal involvement with them.  Afternoon tea will be served following the service.

7th and 8th December.  Central Methodist Church in Burnley  An Angel Festival. This will be held on the weekend of the

"OLLIE" the Octopus, who has been very kindly made in Claret and Blue, and donated by Julie, a Coffee Bar customer, needs a new name! Ollie is very eager to travel the circuit so that people can guess his name in the hope they will win him!! His bags are packed!! If you would like Ollie to visit your Church, again please contact Heather Johnson to arrange dates!


Burnley Central Methodist Church:   "Thank God it’s Friday" is a time for quiet reflection and prayer, for anyone who will be in Burnley town centre at that time, shoppers, workers....people who may not be able to come to a Church on a Sunday. There is not an organised service but volunteers will be available for anyone who wishes to talk. People can stay for as long as they wish. Candles can be lit or prayers left. "Thank God it’s Friday" will take place every Friday from 12 noon until 1.15pm. 


St. Andrew’s MC will be holding a COFFEE MORNING EACH SATURDAY 10am – 12noon. Please remember -You are welcome any time you are in the area. 


Central MC, Hargreaves St. Burnley -  Coffee Bar  is open every day except Tuesdays from 10am until 3pm, Saturdays 10am until 12.30pm.
The coffee bar sells tea/coffee/toast/currant teacakes and other light refreshments at competitive prices.
It is situated at the rear of the Central Methodist Church-Entrance via the car park.  Why not pop in next time you are in Burnley? Everyone is welcome!


Remember!  Every Friday prayer takes place at Christ Church Nelson at 1.30pm – all welcome.


Each Thursday Community Lunch at the Exchange project, Colne.  Lunch is served at 12:30 £3 for the main course and £1 for a sweet, with unlimited free tea or coffee. Main Course followed by the option of ice cream or cheese and biscuits instead of the sweet..


Greenbrook Methodist Church (BB12 6NZ)  hold a Coffee Morning on the last Saturday in every month 10am to 11.30am
Community Coffee Morning. Home baking, books, bric-c-brac. Unlimited tea/coffee for a small donation.


Wheatley lane Methodist church invite you to join them for coffee and cake each Wednesday afternoon 2.30-4.00pm (See current plan for full details). No charge – just a donation if you can. You are most welcome.


 Barley Walks 2019


Service at  Woodside Residential Home, Burnley Road, Padiham  second Wednesday of every month. The service starts at 11:00am for half an hour. Could you help with singing, bible readings?  Please see Erica Atkinson.
