Preaching appointments  September to November 2019

Starting Tuesday 24th September 2019 for 6 months from 9:00-11:00am. Welcome to Wellbeing – A free workshop every Tuesday. Join us to learn new skills and make new friends. Tuesday 8th October The next local CAP Fresh Start course will start at 7pm at Central Methodist church in BURNLEY. This course is for anyone who wants to break free from their dependencies e.g. drinking, gambling , internet addiction etc . Sunday 3rd November MWiB:  Circuit Service at Briercliffe Road, at 3.00pm. The speaker is Deacon Jane Harper, President of District MWiB. Very appropriate in this celebration year of Action for Children, as she speaks of personal involvement with them.  Afternoon tea will be served following the service.

Saturday 10th November Pais Prayer Event at 6:30pm.  At Pendle Community Church, Scotland Road, Nelson

16th November Christmas Fair at Christ Church Nelson, 11am – 2pm on Saturday 16th November.  Various stalls including crafts, toys, jewellery, books, bric-a-brac, cakes and preserves. Face painting and crafts for children. Hot lunches will be served. Entry £1 includes tea / coffee / mince pie / biscuits. Proceeds for Mission work. All Welcome.

30th November. 10.30am to 2pm. Greenbrook Christmas Fair. Various stalls, refreshments and a visit by Father Christmas to his grotto. All welcome.

30th November 10am – 12 noon A Christmas Fair at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church Barnoldswick

6th – 8th December 2019 Brierfield Methodist Church will be hosting a “Christmas Tree and Flower Festival” in celebration of the amalgamated Burnley and Pendle circuit.  Each church is invited to decorate a tree or make a flower arrangement to accompany a display of their church’s origins and life to the present day.  Food will be served throughout the weekend and there will be stalls selling homemade produce, crafts and seasonal items. The weekend will culminate in a Circuit Songs of Praise at 4pm on Sunday 8th December, after which tea and coffee will be served. For more information please contact Anne Dixon  01282 521618

7th and 8th December.  Central Methodist Church in Burnley  An Angel Festival.

"OLLIE" the Octopus, who has been very kindly made in Claret and Blue, and donated by Julie, a Coffee Bar customer, needs a new name! Ollie is very eager to travel the circuit so that people can guess his name in the hope they will win him!! His bags are packed!! If you would like Ollie to visit your Church, again please contact Heather Johnson to arrange dates!

Burnley Central Methodist Church:   "Thank God it’s Friday" is a time for quiet reflection and prayer, for anyone who will be in Burnley town centre at that time, shoppers, workers....people who may not be able to come to a Church on a Sunday. There is not an organised service but volunteers will be available for anyone who wishes to talk. People can stay for as long as they wish. Candles can be lit or prayers left. "Thank God it’s Friday" will take place every Friday from 12 noon until 1.15pm. 

St. Andrew’s MC will be holding a COFFEE MORNING EACH SATURDAY 10am – 12noon. Please remember -You are welcome any time you are in the area. 

Central MC, Hargreaves St. Burnley -  Coffee Bar  is open every day except Tuesdays from 10am until 3pm, Saturdays 10am until 12.30pm.
The coffee bar sells tea/coffee/toast/currant teacakes and other light refreshments at competitive prices.
It is situated at the rear of the Central Methodist Church-Entrance via the car park.  Why not pop in next time you are in Burnley? Everyone is welcome!

Remember!  Every Friday prayer takes place at Christ Church Nelson at 1.30pm – all welcome.

Each Thursday Community Lunch at the Exchange project, Colne.  Lunch is served at 12:30 £3 for the main course and £1 for a sweet, with unlimited free tea or coffee. Main Course followed by the option of ice cream or cheese and biscuits instead of the sweet..

Greenbrook Methodist Church (BB12 6NZ)  hold a Coffee Morning on the last Saturday in every month 10am to 11.30am
Community Coffee Morning. Home baking, books, bric-c-brac. Unlimited tea/coffee for a small donation.

Wheatley lane Methodist church invite you to join them for coffee and cake each Wednesday afternoon 2.30-4.00pm (See current plan for full details). No charge – just a donation if you can. You are most welcome.

 Barley Walks 2019

Service at  Woodside Residential Home, Burnley Road, Padiham  second Wednesday of every month. The service starts at 11:00am for half an hour. Could you help with singing, bible readings?  Please see Erica Atkinson.
